Each week I curate a few articles from around the interwebs so you can just sit back with a ☕️ coffee or protein shake and relax.
Are you looking to make improvements in your performance and other areas of your life? Are you like me and many others and become impatient and sometimes jump from one thing to the next or try to advance too quickly? Do you run every day after getting back from an injury to make up for lost time? Do you add weight too quickly to the squat bar after a few weeks out of the gym? I think I have made every mistake in the book over the years. The one thing getting a little older has taught me is to be patient. I love this article by James Clear. It shows the value of patience and doing the small things every day.

🍷 Alcohol consumption is declining primarily by Gen Z, who in 2022 was the fastest growing demographic of non-alcoholic drink consumers. The National Academy of Sports Medicine has introduced its first Mindful Drinking as part of its wellness-centered course for any learner who wishes to explore their relationship with alcohol. It explores alcohol as a component of our lives and how one might become more intentional with their choices for improved well-being.

The lost art of doing nothing: I wandered past a restaurant in Sydney the other day and as I looked in the window I saw 4 people sitting at a table all staring at their phones. I only had one word. SAD. I’m a Podcast addict and the DOAC is one of my favs. Steve Bartlett is a young successful CEO and he talks about his date nights with his GF with no phone. I think it’s a great rule.
During my travels through Turkey last year, I would always look for the earliest place to open to get a coffee. You always run into the locals here and they are usually a little older. It was so refreshing to see the locals sitting with a coffee or Turkish tea enjoying a conversation with a friend or just sitting in silence.
