I recently read 'Atomic Habits' by James Clear and came across a Harvard lecture by Graham Weaver. One recurring theme in both is the power of doing small things consistently over a long period.
Graham Weaver's mantra is clear: 'Do Hard Things, Do Your Thing, and Do it for Decades.'
This idea of slow, persistent progression is something that I’m reminding myself of constantly. It's easy to get caught up in the desire for quick results, but the true key to lasting success and progress lies in the daily commitment to do those small, meaningful things. It's about planting seeds and nurturing them patiently, knowing that over time, they will grow into something remarkable."
As I begin my running journey after a long break, it’s clear that slow steady progression brings results.
Do the small daily things to get better over a long time.
Get good quality sleep
Eat well and hydrate
Spend meaningful time on your recovery
Add progression and have a training plan
